You cant hear the words through the speakers well enough to tell what they are. Also, these words are not what the average person would use, I have a university education and I dont even use these words. The same words come up over and over in the same order and you just have to memorize them to get a good score. Horrible game. Not worth having, even if it were free.

Now I can write my name after I game over. How I wish I could play online with a live opponent!!! Some words are really easy. The only hard words are those foreign words. My problem right now is that it repeat the same set of words in round 1. I am hoping that if I will be able to pass all rounds, I will be face with different set of words. Please update it!!!!!!!

The words arent supposed to be words that an average person would use because theyre the words that appear in the Scripps National Spelling Bee. If only the pronouncer was a bit clearer and too bad it didnt have alternate pronunciations for the words...

Too hard for kids under 9 and its hard to hear spoken words through external speakers. Not terrible for 3 bucks.

Used it once. After that it wouldnt say the word anymore so the game cannot be played. A complete waste of $3. I am just furious right now.

Bought this application because I thought it would be fun...good thing I didnt pay too much because the words are never provided! I never hear anyone say a word to spell. click on repeat, and still no words. :(

The List of words is great and the skill progression is nice. My only complaint is the audio quality of the clips could have been better. You can sometimes hear background noise and audio pops while she is reading the words. But for $1.99 its not a bad way to quiz yourself on some tough spelling words.

Its now working... Not sure what the deal was but Im re-rating it because Im playing it and its fun. Now the only complaint I have is that the word database appears to be very small so if you play the game more than once you basically get much of the same word list. Then its not really a game of spelling skill but of short term memory.

Unable to unlock level 2 -- always requires starting from level 1 -- not much help if trying to learn lots of words. Pass this one up.

The Announcer on this application needs to speak clearer. I get many words wrong because I cant understand her. I also think that her voice has a lot of static. Other than that, I think it is a great mind-workout. It has helped me become a better speller.

The apps great but hey, wheres the other thousand words off the list?????

The app has no sound when you ask it to repeat the word. It never tells you the word once so you cant play it

This version (1.1) does not work on my iPad 2 or my iPhone 3gs. The game is designed where a voice apparently will speak a word that you will then spell... So far it has given me some count down background music but I have never ever heard the application speak a word which means that the entire point of the application is moot... You cannot use it at all. Great idea. I paid $3 for it and would again... If it worked... as it stands I feel ripped off... DO NOT PURCHASE VERSION 1.1!

This game is great and REALLY fun! It helps you memorize a lot of words. I think Ill do great on my upcoming Spelling Bee! Only complaint is that the words ate said really softly. If you put your ear next to where the sound comes out you will hear it!

I thought this game would give u a grade but it doesnt does not help if u want to know how many u need to work on

Sound does not display the word to be spelled. Do not buy this app. Im contacting the app store for a refund.
